Akan National Park - 阿寒国立公園

At 2004/09/10 I went from Fukuoka to Sapporo by airplane. From there, I went several hours to the Akan National Park in the north-east of Hokkaido. I arrived ath Mashu in the evening. I stayed at a youth hostel (Pole Star). The same evening, we went to Lake Mashu (Mashu-ko) to watch some shooting stars. We were lucky: the sky was clear, but it was very cold (only 9°C instead of 25°C at night in Kyushu), brrr. I met some Japanese people. Together, we went to Mashu-ko the next morning to enjoy the sunrise. This can be seen on this page. Some hours later, I went to Akan-ko together with 4 other Japanese people I met day before. Akan-ko is famous for the marimo algae. A lot of marimo-omiyage/souvenirs are available in whole Hokkaido!
